Photo Retouching Is Art

I'm tired of looking through stock photos and people saying that Photo Retouching isn't art.

I can understand how some wouldn't want someone to just retouch their photo or just apply levels and curves. I can understand that they want more done with their photos. Just say that. But you can't put art into categories. Art can be virtually anything, if you're creative and imaginative enough to notice it.

Trying to improve my retouching skills...

So lately I have been really into retouching and restoration. I think its one of the things I am naturally good at. I'm also becoming aware of things that I'm not so good at or I don't have the attention span to want to try to improve, and that is website design. I just never really had the dedication.

I've been using stock photos from this site to improve my skills. Please comment, give critiques, tear apart my artwork, honesty is the ONLY WAY that I will get better.

To whoever still comes by this thing...

I have been kinda depressed these past few days, mostly about stuff happening at home and a far. I have family in Mobile, Alabama & Louisiana. Luckily everyone is okay there, and nothing happened to their homes. THANK GOD!! Lately, I have just stayed away from the news cuz it gets to me emotionally. It's horrible to see what has happened there, even more horrible to see the after effects. Men raping women, people stealing, shooting at police officers, people dropping dead in the streets, families that have lost their loved ones. It's crazy, I cannot even IMAGINE what it must be like there! Even more horrible is to see children without food, without clean clothes and shelter. The disease and the illness there must be off the charts. It has become like a third world country there. It's insanity.

What really pisses me off is the way everyone is acting there. I don't understand people, and why they have to steal, shoot and harm other people, to make the situation worse. This situation doesn't have to be as bad as it is, if everyone would just keep calm.

My family and I were planning a trip to Louisiana. Go down eat some GOOD gumbo, listen to some jazz, walk down bourbon street, absorb the rich old culture, and the people.

It looks like we might not be doing that for a long while now, and it may not ever be the same as it was before. Blah. The situation, in all directions, looks bad.
